PEBRERO 2011

February was officially my ADVENTURE MONTH! A lot of adventures for me because this year I was able to visit good friends in a different country.
Where? It is the far away land of Canada.

I know people always think, that Canada is not another country since we in the USA is too much connected to it.
But you know what, the flight is about 3 hours... I needed my Visa to cross over... and definitely so different from California. This is definitely a different country.

Well before I went to Canada of course me and my friends, PSB had been meeting almost every single weekend with just basically Chilling, Bonding and Poker Days.

Here is one of our bonding times before I went on a vacation. The people in this picture are people I treasure. They definitely kept me sane and occupied.

After this bonding day, I went to VANCOUVER, CANADA.
People thought I was crazy to go up north on winter time.
When everybody is trying to go South to get some warmer days, I flew to Cold Canada for a 9 day vacation.
How was the weather? Their warmest is 40 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Well I wasn't actually supposed to go there but because of my friend who cannot go to the US from Canada, I travelled Canada from US.

So what were the Top 10 highlights of my Vancouver/Canada Vacation?

10) SNOW Time (Grouse Mountain)
On my first official day in the city of Vancouver, we went to the Grouse Mountain which is the highest peak in Vancouver. That was the first time I saw snow FALLING! And I enjoyed every minute of it. Want some proof?

Here is also a video of our arrival in Grouse Mountain.

But I think on our way up on our chair lift, Aisha jinxed me. How?

Aisha said that it could be worst on our way down.

So guess what happened, on our way down... my camera fell from my snow jacket down into the mountain which is like 3 stories high. Thought I would never found it again. But...

The staff of Grouse Mountain FOUND IT for me. AND IT IS STILL WORKING.
So if you will be in the Vancouver area. I recommend to you this ski resort.
GREAT SERVICE!!! Grouse Mountain!

9) Connection to NATURE (Capilano Suspension Bridge)

Vancouver has a great downtown city but what's even greater is that 30 minutes away, you will be able to connect to nature. On one of the non raining days, me and my friend Bambi decided to do a quick Capilano Hanging Bridge trip. If you know me really well, I am not the biggest fan of heights. Specially those with a closer destination if I fall down there.
Seriously, I will sky dive but I will never Bungee.
Thats just who I am.
But the nature in this place was so amazing, I was able to conquer my fear.

8) Transportation System

In Orange County, we definitely need a car to go somewhere but in Vancouver there is a lot of transportation available, Bus, Cable Car, Aqua Bus, Sky Train, Sea Bus. It is so easy to move around. During my stay there, I only rode the car at least 2-3 times. Yes, I did walk a lot which was a good exercise for my job after this vacation.

7) Sightseeing

One thing is for sure, after three years of being abroad, I AM STILL SUCH A TOURIST! Taking photos everywhere, buying souvenirs here and there.
And so? Here are some tourist moments.

6) Olympic Couldron

In 2010, the Winter Olympics happened in Vancouver Canada.
It is the same time or month I was there.
Because they were celebrating its anniversary, I saw it lit up.
YES! I had the opportunity to see the Olympic Couldron or the Olympic Torch lit up.
Which is really awesome.

5) Whitehorse, Yukon Territory (Northern Canada)

Bambi and myself decided to take cold weather to the next level.
And we definitely achieved it in Northern Canada.
Warmest? ZERO Degrees Fahrenheit.
Crazy right and I have experience up to Negative 20DegreesFahrenheit here.
When we arrived we knew it is going to be cold. Everything is covered with snow and wind feels like its scratching your face... but not really. That is how cold it was.
I had 3 layers for my pants and 4 for my top. And I still felt the cold.
But generally this is a very charming small town.
I learned that you can drive to the arctic circle in less than 24 hours and to Alaska in 2 hours. Really cool. I have tasted the best fish and chips here as well.
Amazing people and amazing history too.

4) New Unique Things I have Seen. Some weird but cool.

1st SteamClock in the World

218 Flavors of Ice Cream in 1 Place

Gas Station in Middle of Water for Floating Planes

Aquabus

Fancy Cement Mixer

Open Restroom in Snow

Biggest wind turbine I have ever seen.

3) Great Photography Opportunities.

2) Bonding with Great Friends.

I would like to thank Bambi for inviting me to Vancouver.
I remembered telling her of how much Canada is at the end of my list if ever I would go to another country. In fact I think I told her that I will never go to Canada at all. But this trip has been very memorable and great. I thought the time I was there has been the best.
That if I have a great job there and a great place to stay, I will consider moving there. Thanks for pampering me. Of course, I enjoyed it more because I had the pleasure of annoying you again with my charms. lol. Thank you Bamb!

To Aisha, thank you and Dave for letting me and Bambi stay at your place for the whole trip. I enjoyed every minute of it and thank you for your great hospitality. Please tell Dave I am sorry if we were not able to bond with him more. Well I know there is always a next time. Visit me here in California. Even though I dont have a place to give, I can definitely show you around, meaning Disneyland. :D Thanks for also keeping me sane with your internet services and recording my favorite shows, which are yours too. lol. See you soon Aisha.

Oh and it is nice seeing you too Joyce!

Great time with friends. Visit me here! Or maybe we can visit other states too. SOON!

1) AURORA BOREALIS! (Northern Lights)

Should I say why? It is one of my Bucket Wish List. I thought it would be one of the last but it is the 2nd thing I have conquered. I love our Disney Light shows but this has been the best one ever. 1st Night we tried, it didnt come out. But the 2nd night, it showed itself.
Dancing in the sky.

One thing I have learned from this vacation? I was able to conquer cold. And I did not get sick.
Well I kinda did after eating that ice cream, got a tonsilitis the next day. Not fun.
But anyway, going back to the 60Degrees here was a piece of cake.

I will see you soon VANCOUVER!

My adventure this month didn't end after Canada, it continued because the next week, I was able to go on my very 1st Adventures By Disney Trip for our Hollywood and Disneyland Backstage Magic.
Really cannot go much into details but... one thing I am sure, I am very happy I am doing this. And I want to do this for a loooooooong time.
And hopefully I can be an Adventure Guide in another destination like CHINA, Australia or who knows maybe in the Philippines!
I believe Dreams do Come True.
So hopefully one day... I know one day.

Well speaking of Dreams Coming True? One of my Bucket Wish List got crossed out again. What is that?

HOLDING AN OSCAR AND AN EMMY!
Thank you Adventures By Disney.
After this adventure, I felt like I became an official ADVENTURE GUIDE!

Im so happy! And so stoked and looking forward for my next trips.

And to end this great month, me and my great friends (PSB) had an awesome weekend to celebrate Derek's birthday weekend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEREK.

NIGHT 1: Derek's Black and White Party.

NIGHT 2: Disneyland Hotel Stay with PSB and my 1st time at House of Blues.

NIGHT 3 or Day 3: San Diego Day. Kalye Hits or KALYE HATES!!!

AND LOOK AT THIS VERY GREAT RESTO! Where do u wanna eat?
Arte lang: At the point point!

WHEW!!!

And that ended my ADVENTUROUS PEBRERO!

March doesn't have much promises of adventure filled activities.
But we shall see coz I will try and make it work.
Good luck to me.

Enero 2011

So I decided to do a monthly ongoing Blog of what is happening in my life here in the U.S. of A. And hopefully, I will be able to continue on with this for the rest of the year.

On the 1st day of the year, I was invited by my good friends Kris and Amy to celebrate with them on a birthday party up in L.A. at Universal City Walk. And for the 1st time I was able to experience Saddle Ranch which is the Western inspired Restaurant/Bar in front of Universal Studios. And of course I partied with P.S.B. friends.

Also this month, I was able to bless Bishop Ron, Pastora Carrie and their mom as I treat them passes to go to Disneyland. They were the ones who took care of us when we went up to Isabela last March when I went back home. I hope that next time my good friends, Brain, Fibi and Amazing are the ones that I would sign in to Disneyland. :D

Oh and one of the best things that happened to me this month is that finally I was able to experience one of the most popular resto here in the O.C., The Boiling Crab. Thanks to my ever makulit friend, Jessica for inviting us to go there. After waiting for almost 2 hours, we were able to eat inside and had 1lb of shrimp. Even though we waited for a very long time, the food was sumptuous and the price we paid was worth it. I cant wait to eat there again.

We were planning to watch MMFF's best picture, Tanging Ina but guess what? I have been sick for 3 weeks now and this past weekend was worst. Oh well, my January is still promising. I hope to feel better soon. Tomorrow, I am going to church and listen to Darlene Zschech's message at Newportchurch. I am really excited for that.

Oh also, this month, I started reading the One Year Bible that I bought from church and honestly, I have never enjoyed reading the Bible this much. And I am excited to continue on with this. Help me God.

Sadly though, this year, one of my good friends, Jeffrey Moffit told us, his D.U. friends that he is quitting Disneyland to go back to his hometown in San Francisco with his family. Of course some D.U. friends decided to say goodbye at Dave and Busters, the Block. I was sick but for a good friend, I came and saw him for one last time. Well I hope that wont be the last time Jeffrey. I will see you soon.

On a side note, I finally after 6 years, got a video of my performance for JSONGS at JCSGO. It was for our very 1st church album under JSONGS. I was 20 and I was rockin it. Not the best singer but I am sure gutsy. lol. Wanna see it? Here you go. Thanks to Joshua Fulgencio for sending me the link.

Oh and its kinda funny that I have never paid to enter Disneyland but I have paid to be an Annual Passholder for Universal Studios. And I just did it again last January 15. Of course with my P.S.B. friends.

And that night after Universal Studios, we decided to drive to Chinatown to experience one of the Best French Dipped Sandwich at Philippes the Original. It was so... old. So SM Foodcourt looking. But yah. It was a good place.

And at that place, guess what I found...

And I know its the real one coz... it has...

The 3 day weekend for Martin Luther King has been fun. Was recovering from my 3 weeks of being sick but I still had fun with my good friends. We ended it with my very 1st time to play POKER! Well I lost 10 bucks but I was really good at it. I was one of the last ones playing. Its a one man take all thing. Next time, I know I will win.

FYI. I didn't drink any booze. I am the only good boy with water.

And of course we relaunched the Gwapings... and I am.

And with the relaunch of my good friend...

And by the way, I am so sad that I am missed UST's 400th year anniversary. Seeing all the posts and pictures from everyone, I wished I continued with my original plan. Go home for UST! But here I am, in the US grieving.

I also helped 2 good friends, Anthony and Gina on their moving day last month. This month, they had a house warming party and of course D.U. friends came over and had a great night.

Speaking of D.U. this month we said goodbye to one of the best managers I have met at Disneyland. We will miss you Steve Eng. He is moving to Hawaii to be part of the Aulani team. He deserves the best and I am happy for him but of course, the whole team will miss him.

And even though I was sick the whole month, I was able to bond with my friends. Just like the house warming party.

Of course with PSB...

on David's 26th birthday.
Oh and here is a planned.fake surprise party for him. Wanna know why... here...

And that kind of ends my January. And I am so happy that after all the sickness, drama, friend bonding, me passing my virus to my other friends, now i feel way better.

Oh by the way, I am trying a new look. Its the beanie with glasses. Kinda look like this. But less oiliness and more eyes. Here..

Now that ends my Enero of this year. Cant believe that its already done. 11 more months to go for 2012. lol.

Im so excited for February because its gonna be a lot of adventure for me. I will of course share them with you.

P.S. Today January 31, I learned a valuable lesson but I am happy I was able to keep something I thought I will lose because of this one thing I got. So with that... I guess I am staying where I am.

Ciao!!!

The Top 5 Reasons Why 2010 Has Been MEMORABLE!!!

A lot of things happened in 2010 which involves a lot of people in my life. 2009 proved to be a challenging one but this year as I prepared for my quarter life, my 25th birthday or existence, I was able to do things I planned and never planned on doing.

What would be the Top 5 that I will never forget?

In 2010...

1) I went back home to the Philippines to visit where I grew up and lived for 21 years of my life. Of course my main reason why I went home is because of my lolo and lola. I love them to death and I just want to experience them in person. I also wanna see my other family members and my friends, Tropax, Kadas, SDP, ABSC, JCSGO and a lot more. One of the best things that has happened this year. I am hoping to come back home 2012. I also came back to someone back home. :D
2) This year I was also give a chance to train as an Adventures by Disney Guide. First, I got oriented at Walt Disney World with other guides around the world and also got my shadow training to be a guide for Hollywood and Backstage Magic. I am so excit
ed to do my own adventure this coming year.

3) I established friendship with a group of Filipino friends I named Pinoi Solid Barkadahan (I know its cheesy) But after 3 years of being in the US, I finally got some real social life and its because of these good people I call friends. Thanks P.S.B. for making my American life bearable every week. Thanks for celebrating with my triumphs and listening to my rants. I love you guys.

4) My 25th Birthday Celebration. For the 1st time I had a big party for my birthday that I organized and was supported by my family. It hurt my pockets and was a lot of work but its all worth it. Thanks for those who all came and has been part of my 25th birthday.

5) I became closer with my little brother, Richard. When I came here he is 3 and now he is 7. I was able to help discipline and mold him as he grows up. I would say that this year we have reached our moments of real brotherhood. And I will treasure every moment.

So there you go. The Top 5 Reasons Why I will never forget 2010.

I am hoping for a better 2011 and I hope to make more memories and more accomplishments.

How was Halloween 2010?

Nothing BIG happened. We had friends come over and we dressed up and just took some pics.

No trick or treatin.
No fancy parties.
No special occasion.

Just friends getting together.

Thanks PSB for hanging out at my Crib. Thanks to our personal DJ. DJRN! lol.

Oh and here is my Halloween 2010 look as a 70's Fitness Guru! (It is a little disturbing!)

Happy Halloween. Next year I think we might need to host our own Halloween Party. We shall see.
